In a feeble attempt by Ron Pritchard to drum up some political support,
he mailed out post cards to everyone in the 32953 zip code. The post
card contained a letter titled “WHAT REALLY HAPPENED.” Within the
letter, the author alleged that Ron took a neutral position, that he
expressed his concerns, gave advice and was instrumental in saving our
neighborhood. Nothing could be further from the truth. Ron did
everything in his power to accommodate the developer and future owners
of what was supposed to be an up-scaled Billiards establishment.
Unbeknownst to the developer when he applied for a zoning change that
would allow the sale of alcohol for on-premises consumption, he
woke a sleeping giant. The residents of Sunset Groves were not going to
roll over and allow a bar to be opened at the only entrance to our
neighborhood. This establishment was to be located less than 500 ft.
from some of our resident’s homes and less the 100 ft. from our
children’s bus stop. Their hours of operation was to be 11am – 2am,
7days a week. Those hours would set
a scenario in which our children would be departing their School Bus 4–5
hours after patrons of this establishment was to commence in the
consumption of alcoholic beverages. Thank God we didn’t have 3 Ron
Pritchards on the Board of County Commissioners! Though Ron eventually
went on record as denying the change request, he was instrumental at
having this hearing tabled twice in an effort to diminish our
determination. He failed!
I ask you to read the minutes from the Board of County Commissioners’
hearing of NMI40705 dated 8/5/04, 10/7/04 and 2/15/05 and you will come
to realize that Ron caters to developers while shunning his
constituents.
The letter that Ron exploited, for his dirty deed, was written by a
former President of the Sunset Groves Homeowners Association. I believe
the letter to be a vindictive attack on those of us responsible for
having him removed from office.
This is not a paid political advertisement, just my opinion. Bottom
line: It doesn’t matter what your political affiliation is, we need
someone in office that will represent the people of District 2 NOT
Developers and Investors with deep pockets.
Genuinely,
Dave Ricouard
Resident of Sunset Groves
