No More Ron! This Website is dedicated to educating the public
about Brevard County (Florida) Commissioner Ron Pritchard, District 2
(Merritt Island, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa, Avon By The Sea, Cocoa Beach,
Snug Harbor, Patrick Air Force Base, Port Canaveral and Kennedy Space
Center.)
RON'S CONS
CON: Pritchard says "I believe it is important that our
decisions be based on overall criteria and review, and
whether it has an overall benefit as opposed to benefiting
just one or a few individuals, special interest groups or agencies."
TRUTH: Pritchard is an extremist out of touch with the needs of
average people: smart development, usable roads, and civility
towards and respect for those who disagree with him.
CON: Pritchard says "elected office is supposed to be about
leadership - not fellowship...this is a billion dollar
business that is being run like a social service agency...
TRUTH: Then Pritchard says: "...sometimes it is a case of a warm body,
I appoint who is available and sometimes they know nothing..."
CON: Pritchard says "if the public comes and makes comments
that are wrong, I will hold them accountable. If comments
are not challenged, they become facts; and that is when
the fog comes in ....."
TRUTH: Pritchard uses bully tactics intended to intimidate
citizens who come before the Commission, organizations,
County staff, and fellow Commissioners who don't agree
with him.
CON: His DPA, Doctor of
Public Affairs, degree, assures the ability to understand and correctly interpret
data.
TRUTH: Pritchard
(see www.brevardcounty.us/D2/views.cfm) reports that
62% of Brevard County is set aside for conservation and 71% will
never be developed. The problem of calculating the percentages
based on the data presented was given to a normal 12-year old
who correctly calculated them to be 49% (315/638) and 60%
([315+189]/827).
CON: Pritchard says "somebody
has to pay the freight ......"

CON: He has instituted many
rational cost-cutting measures for the county.

residents for No-Parking and

problem spending tax dollars to have county employees
make and install signs throughout District 2 with
his name on them.
CON: Pritchard says "I want to make sure every dime goes to
transportation projects."
TRUTH: Pritchard budgets
$310,000 for a streetsweeper when
Brevard County has about $400 million in unfunded roads projects and
a large unmet need for improved drainage capability in his District.

respect by the public servants entrusted to spend them."

of equipment that has a projected 5-7 year life expectancy.
