What Ron Pritchard is SAYING

The following extracts are from ACTUAL e-mails issued by PRITCHARD to some Brevard County citizen. They demonstrate gross lack of professionalism, understanding of his proper role as a public official, and the basic civility and respect due people who disagree with him.

• ….your myopic view is based upon a general negativism...I appreciate your attempt to communicate but your views are not supported by mainstream Brevard...apparently, you have a lot of time to write...have you considered other hobbies..

• Have you thought of getting a life...you had nothing to do with it... it's my decision...

• ...my website is the website of the District 2 Commissioner...I am the District 2 Commissioner...this "battleground" is long in coming...for too long either certain members of the public or the commission has hidden behind a veil of anonymity...both like to publicly spout how much they care about the public or their representation of the public - but it's lip service...their interest is parochial and their alleged support is pandering...I don't do that...and I don't intend to start to simply satisfy the lacking some people possess...my interest is and will always be responsible representation of the entire public...not just the small, vocal, few with an axe to grind...if you're looking for validation you have other venues...

• ...read your recent nonsense...your version leaves much to be desired...referring to people as "citizen" X is scary...what's next "comrade"...i'm proud of my accomplishments and my resolve to represent responsible people...apparently that's the part you have problems with...i intend to continue on my resolve to restore common sense regardless of your chronic complaining......your blindered ideas are so far from mainstream accountable thinking it's laughable...

• I do represent "all of the people"...generally, the people that oppose me and my common sense approach to managing issues have a biased interest...if your input is emotional, biased and generally fabricated - I consider it to be erroneous.....the "naysayers" have all the answers to problems they create yet they have no public support...hence their inability to get elected...

• I have my right to respond...if you can't take it - that's your problem...I have my group of naysayers that like to attack me...I like to return the favor...for the most part it's not much of a challenge...seems like you're happy with feel good solutions and kumbayah around the campfire….

• Thanx for your biased opinion...it may interest you to know that I have a lot of support for the positions I take and the methods I employ….

• My response was based upon the articles written by these people...if anyone wants to attack me they can expect a response...their comments were foolish and based upon their version of what actually happened...to allow that to go unchallenged would be inappropriate...apparently, you prefer a Commissioner who panders - well, I'm not him...if you want accountability and responsible leadership I'm there...but I will not subordinate my rights to accommodate someone's mouthy writings....

• …make an appointment and you can review my emails...you know the rules on public records...i do too...i don't "censure" (Pritchard probably means "censor" here ---censure means to find fault with and criticize as in blameworthy---look censure and censor up in any dictionary, Ron) correspondence...the adopted policy was to "encourage" and i do...if you have responsible input - i'll consider it...
